​We are committed to addressing climate and environment-related challenges, both in our audit work and as an employer. We believe that every little helps, and that each action plays a direct part in building a more sustainable world.

Examples of our environmental initiatives:


  • Beekeeping club: ECA staff can gain hands-on experience tending the beehives on our premises. The honey produced is mainly given as corporate gifts.


  • Community garden: keen gardeners can join their colleagues looking after the flower and vegetable beds on our premises. Our community gardeners also organise seed exchanges for other staff​ to raise awareness of biodiversity and permaculture.


  • Tree planting: the ECA has committed to a four-year volunteer project working with a local NGO to plant trees in Luxembourg.


  • City bikes: we offer our staff free subscriptions to the City of Luxembourg’s vel'OH! bike rental scheme.


  • Reusable bottles/boxes: to reduce the use of plastic, we provide our staff with reusable takeaway food boxes and water bottles.


  • We take part in the EU’s Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). This management tool enables organisations to evaluate, report on and improve their environmental performance. Learn more about EMAS at the ECA.
