An international conference to tackle development issues after 2015
In the context of Luxembourg’s presidency of
the European Union, the European Court of Auditors will host an international
conference on EU development aid policies on 20 and 21 October 2015 in
Luxembourg.
As the main player in the field of
international aid, the EU has made 2015 the European year of development, in
line with the United Nations’ planned adoption of sustainable development objectives in September 2015.
The conference aims at discussing the future of
development aid beyond 2015, how to evaluate its effectiveness and good
governance and coordination between the various stakeholders.
The conference will bring together senior
representatives from the European Institutions (the Parliament, the Commission - and the Council), United Nations, Word Bank,
European Investment Bank, OCDE, national development agencies, Supreme
Audit Institutions, academia and donor
and beneficiary countries.
